Hello

I am currently testing a OPC Client using your OPC UA Simulator server and I noticed that all variables inputted by me are type “double”.

I am adding them in the “Simulation” folder, I give them a name and a variable but can’t change the type.

How can I change the variable type?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

This is not possible at the moment (except for Counters).

In Objects/StaticData/StaticVariables there are some nodes of different datatypes, however they are static.

Eventually we want of course to support simulating everything.

P.S. It would seem the default size for the window is not enough to display the last setting for the Counter and that is the one for the datatype.

P.S.2 if above sounds weird, you need to select the signal in the left panel to see its settings.

The counter works for most types but I wanted to perform range testing on a float so I created a counter of type Float and set the range as needed.
It works. But..

When I close simulation server, I can see the changes in the sinulation.xml but when I restarted it, it ignores those settings and everything is 0d oiut.

Are float counters supported?

The same thing happens with a double counter.

Hi,

Thanks for the notice, that would seem to be a bug and I can reproduce it with 3.1.4. (I assume that it happened on that version, if not please mention). Most likely happened as side-effect of 3.1.4 changing counters to be functions of time (vs. traditional incremental counters) internally to enable history simulation. Will be fixed for next release.
