Prosys OPC Ltd (Tekniikantie 14, 02150, Espoo, Finland, later referred to as “Prosys”) provides products and services related to OPC and OPC UA technologies. Prosys makes Support Forum available for use on this web site subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this document. By accessing the Support Forum, you agree with the Terms of Use. Prosys may change the Terms of Use anytime. Please read this page carefully before entering the Support Forum.

Registration

You must provide current, accurate, and complete information about yourself that may be required as part of the account creation process and/or continued use and participation in the Support Forum. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Forum password and account, and you are entirely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must maintain and promptly update any account information provided to Prosys to keep it accurate, current and complete. Prosys reserves the right to refuse access to the Support Forum to anyone at any time without notice for any reason. See full database description below.

NOTE! An account is only needed for posting. You can read the forum without one. Thus, only make an account if you intend to post. Accounts that have not posted anything are removed periodically.

Warranties and Disclaimers

All messages made available as a part of this Support Forum, and any opinions, advice, statements or other information contained in any messages posted or transmitted by any third party are the responsibility of the author of that message and not of Prosys. The fact that a particular message is posted on or transmitted using this Support Forum does not mean that Prosys has endorsed that message in any way or verified the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message. We encourage visitors of the forum to report any objectionable message to support(@)prosysopc.com. Prosys does not moderate the Support Forum 24 hours a day, and the transmitted messages are not supervised before transmission. Thus, objectionable messages and messages that violate the Terms of Use are deleted within a reasonable time frame.

Deleting Messages

Prosys reserves the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever without notice. Messages are typically deleted as a result of the following:

  • Spamming or commercial solicitation
  • Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument
  • Flooding a forum or individual threads with repetitive, pointless posts
  • Impersonating other individuals or false representation
  • Discussion of illegal activity, or posting links to other websites that deal with such activities
  • Posts that are entirely unrelated to the forum in which they are posted
  • Excessive cross-posting (this is considered spam)
  • Posts which breach another member’s privacy, i.e. containing phone numbers, addresses or other personal information
  • Copyright violations

NOTE! Depending on the case the user posting such messages might be also removed. For example, if you post spam we will just remove the whole account at once.

Support Forum Acceptable Use

You agree, through your use of the Support Forum, that you will not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually-oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree, through your use of the Support Forum, not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you.

You agree, through your use of the Support Forum, not to post advertising of any kind in the Forum whether you are a private party or a company.

Prosys also reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

Limitation of Liability

In no event will Prosys by liable for any damage whatsoever (including without limitation damages relating to lost revenues or profits, lost data, work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction) resulting from or in any way related to the use of any materials posted on or made available in the Support Forum or any other web site to which a link is provided or in which a link is provided to this Support Forum, even if Prosys has been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal theory on which such damages are based.

Prosys Support Forum and Blog Database.

The Function of the Database

The database is designed to store and manage the user data of Prosys Support Forum’s user information. The information is used for maintaining and creating customer relationships, marketing and sales activities.

Prosys OPC Ltd personnel.

The Content of Database

The content of the database consists of Support Forum’s users’ contact information and posts to Support Forum and Blog. The following information is collected in the database:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number
  • Company name and website
  • Location information (country, city)
  • Posts to Support Forum or Blog

Official Sources of Information

The collected contact information is entered into the database by users during the registration. Support Forum and Blog posts are stored in the database when they are transmitted by the user.

Stored Personal Information

Prosys does not give the stored information to any third party. However, some information is available in the Support Forum and Blog for all the Internet users, also outside of EU. The information that is available for all the Internet users is the posts to Support Forum and Blog. A user can define what contact information is visible in the user profile page.

Confidentiality

The database Administrator will not give out personal information to external parties without the person’s consent.
