Hi

After a change of the system time (e.g. current time – 1 min) on server side (prosys server) monitored items are no longer updated on client side (UaExpert or prosys sample client) until the time “caches up” (i.e. updates stop for 1 min in example above). Reattaching monitored items or even restarting the client does not help.

Is this behaviour expected?

Best regards,
Manferd

Hello,

Changing the system time on the Server side can cause errors in Subscriptions and MonitoredItems that use it for sampling, so this behavior is expected. In general, the Server should be restarted after the system time has been changed to ensure that it is working correctly.

Are you running the Server on a system where its system time is changed regularly?

Hi Matti,

in our systems, the time is changed at least twice a year due to summer/winter time.
As setting the clock forward doesn’t seem to be a problem, the system only needs to be restarted once a year.
This is not really a big problem, but we need to inform our customers, especially those for whom a complete data record is important.

Thanks and best regards,
Manfred

Hi,

Is this some specialized hardware?
Unless I’m terribly mistaken, a summer/winter time change on a typical system changes the timezone, not the “actual clock”, thus it shouldn’t affect the “UTC clock”, just the timezone would change e.g. UTC+2 -> UTC+3 and then back.
