Greetings,

we have the problem that a 3rd party OPC UA client rejects the connection to a Prosys SDK based server, because the endpoints from the create session call do not match those from the prior discoverEndpoints call.

The Prosys server has endpoints for an IP address, localhost, 127.0.0.1 and the hostname (one each per securityMode)

When the client calls getEndpoints for the IP address, the server correctly responds with all endpoints containing the IP address, but not the hostname, localhost, etc. On create session for the same IP address, the server returns *all* endpoints, also those not containing the IP address. As those endpoints are not identical to the ones from the prior getEndpoints call, the 3rd party client rejects the connection.

We currently disabled the security checks on the client, but this is obviously not a desired solution.

Is this a matter of the server configuration?

Yes, it depends on which version of the SDK you are using in these applications and how are you configuring it.

We used to establish separate endpoints for different network interfaces (IP addresses) in the early versions, but since SDK v 2.0 the idea was to disconnect the EndpointUrls from BindAddresses in the server to avoid this kind of problems.

So, usually, you should define the Endpoints with a hostname only and then use BindAddresses to define to which network interfaces they are bound to without using the IP addresses in actual Endpoints.
