Hi Team,
We are trying to capture alarms generated by the kepware UA server using prosys java SDK..Can you please give me an idea where we need to look into for the same? Also if any sample code available can you please post that too here.
Please treat this with a urgent request since go-live of the project has very much dependency on this.

This depends on the KepServer implementation of course, but we assume that it works according to the OPC UA Specification Part 9., which you could take a look at
The SampleConsoleClient has an example how you can monitor events (createMonitoredEventItem). Changes in alarms are also provided as events.
To Acknowledge or Confirm the alarms, you can use the respective methods for those instances. You will need to provide the EventId as a parameter to the methods: and that should be available from the events that you receive.
Please, refer to KepServer documentation or their support, if there are questions about how the server is providing alarms in general.

Hi Jouni,
Thanks for your response. I have tried the example code to execute with the Kepware server but it failed with following error:
Exception in thread “main” com.prosysopc.ua.StatusException: Bad_MonitoredItemFilterUnsupported (0x80440000) “The server does not support the requested monitored item filter.” StatusCode=Bad_MonitoredItemFilterUnsupported (0x80440000) “The server does not support the requested monitored item filter.”
at com.prosysopc.ua.client.UaClient.checkOperationResult(Unknown Source)
at com.prosysopc.ua.client.Subscription.addItem(Unknown Source)
at com.prosysopc.ua.samples.client.SimpleClient.main(SimpleClient.java:108)
After going through the UA Server documentation we have found that the type of alarm whcih is used here is ExclusiveLimitAlarmType. Can you please confirm if this works with Prosys and if you have any sample to read these alarms?
Any help or pointer will be appreciated.
Regards
Bijesh

Hi Bijesh,
Thank you for the report. Have you tried creating the same event subscription with non-modified SampleConsoleClient application? Is the error message same?
Also, have you tried to receive the events related to the ExclusiveLimitAlarmType with a general purpose OPC UA client application such as Prosys OPC UA Client (https://prosysopc.com/products/opc-ua-client/)?
