Hello,

1) To create a new expression: I read the Forums and found the following about Inputs parameter.
a>> What is the syntax for Inputs parameter?
b>> What is an example?

“Expression signals can be defined with a custom mathematical expression. The expression may
also refer to other signals, which are defined with the Inputs parameter. Expression signals cannot
be used as inputs for other expressions.”

Note: I have read about the simulation.xml file. However, I would still like to know about how to use the Inputs parameter.

2) I want to simulate signals received from different machines and/or sensors.
>> Can a new random signal be created to return One Random String from an array of Strings?

3) Is the manual still available in this release? If so, where can it be found?

Thanks,
Guss-an

Hi,

1. Most mathematical expressions work, e.g. 2 + 2 or a + 5 + x*6. If you define variables (i.e. “Symbols”, e.g. “a” or “x” in previous example), you will need to map them to some other simulation node in the Links editor below Expression. Probably the term Inputs parameter was used before it was changed to “Links” and that part was not updated in the documentation.

2. Not possible at the moment. In general we are working on a much broader simulation for future versions.

3. Yes, either via the Help menu or directly via the installation directory (on windows this usually is C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Programs\Prosys\Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server\app\doc\Prosys_OPC_UA_Simulation_Server_UserManual.pdf).
