Hello,
I’m looking for some information regarding detecting address space changes. I’m certainly not sure if I’m doing things right but generally I think I need to request a MonitoredItem to subscribe to the “Server” object with a readValueId object with attributeID set to Attributes.EventNotifier.
I’m using the Simulation Server v2.2.0.94 and can see the “Server” object has EventNotifier attribute value of 1. If I add / remove signals in the Simulation, I had assumed this should change the address space base model so I assumed it would trigger the event notifier back to my client. However, I do not appear to get the address space automatically refreshing.
Along with my Client, I’ve also attempted to use ProSys own demo client as well with no success either. Using ProSys Client, I use the Event View in the Client, I then drag “Server” to the “Drag Nodes Here” option field but when I look at the requested Event Fields I see BaseModelChangeEventTypes not selected or even selectable?.
Are there limitations of the demo Server / Clients regarding Event Notificatons for BaseModelChanges ? Is this the reason why I might not be seeing Event Notifications for changes to the address space I think I’m triggering by adding / removing signals in the Server ? If the Prosys Client and Server should handle address space changes, can some setup information be described that I could see how to do this ?
Thanks in advance,
Steve W

SimulationServer: Yes it is a limitation currently. The ModelChange events are optional (and the nodes must have a NodeVersion Property, or to be more precise, the node where they are added must have it).So it is not something that would happen “automatically” every time a node is added, but it probably something we should add in a future version.
Ua Client: If the server does send those events, they should be shown in the table. The checkbox tree only selects which Properties of the events are shown, it does not filter any event by type. There is room for improvement in the checkbox tree, but currently only Properties are selectable so e.g. the BasedModelChangeEventType/GeneralModelChangeEventType/Changes is selectable, but you cannot select it by clicking a parent tree element (I’m not exactly sure why this was done so, maybe one reason could be that there are same Property names sometimes, anyway need to check for future versions)
The Server object is pretty much always an EventNotifier (I guess if the server does not support events at all then it could be 0). The MyLevel node does trigger alarms and those are observable through the Server object.
