I’m trying to register some tags on the Siemens Process Simulation to simulate an actuator working together with the Prosys OPC UA Monitor variable change. I was able to communicate with the Monitor without any problems with the variables and with some Python code it changes the values. However, when I try to connect to the Process, I only find the option to add the initial value.
Does anyone know how I can add a value that is a variable and communicates with the value changes?
This photo is of the software when I’m going to add a connection.

These nodes are the tags I added to link with the server and process simulation.

I’m trying to do a college project using Prosys. If anyone has any documents about which tags to add, it would be very useful.

Hello,
We don’t quite understand what you are doing. You mention Python code changing value, but how is this related to Monitor and Simulation Server? You also mention “connecting to the Process”, but we don’t understand what that is.
Can you explain what you are doing step by step and define what software applications are involved in the process?

I managed to connect the Prosys Monitor with my Python code to check the server communication and see if the values changed when the Python code did. It worked without any issues, as you can see in the video below.
But when I tried to do the same with the Siemens software, I got confused about what to import when adding the OPC UA server. I found the nodes I had created, but I’m not sure if those were the right variables to import.
I’m trying to figure out how to get my Python code to communicate with the monitor and what adjustments I need to make in the monitor OPC UA or OPC UA server to send the correct information to Siemens Process Simulate.
I know it depends on the siemens software settings, but I’m unsure if I’m importing the right info from the monitor or if I need to create more tags to send the data properly to the software.
Is it possible to connect my Python code and other software to the same OPC UA server at the same?
video in connection with siemens software:
In summary, I want to connect my code to the OPC UA server to send a signal to the OPC UA monitor and simultaneously transmit this signal through the OPC UA server to the Siemens software. Is it possible to establish this communication between both systems at the same time?

Hello,
Providing support for your Python code or the Siemens software is outside the scope of support for this forum. But in general, it is possible to connect multiple Clients to Simulation Server at the same time, so that should not be a problem.
You can investigate your system using Wireshark. See https://prosysopc.com/blog/opc-ua-wireshark/ for instructions on how to use Wireshark to monitor OPC UA messages.
You can also find some tutorial videos for our products, like Monitor and Simulation Server, and OPC UA in general at our YouTube channel available at https://www.youtube.com/@prosysopc
