Not at the moment, unfortunately. Currently the Modbus data types are limited to INT, DINt and FLOAT, but I don’t actually see a reason why we should not allow other data types to be used as well. the Modbus specification does not really say much about interpreting the bytes that are read.

So, this will be improved in a future version. Hopefully, we can work on it in a short time frame.

Hi Jouni,
thanks. That sounds great. I asked, because we had the case where a 16 bit register was filled with a uint16. For now we have a workaround, but it would be great to have more datatypes in future…
