Hi,

I just wondering if there is a mechanism, of OPC-UA to set the range of a value.

e.g. I have a Int16 this is from -32000 to 32000 (not correct range…) However, If I want to restrict the value, that it is just from -1000 to 10000, can I set it up already in OPC-UA?
Is this part of the OPC-UA protocol? Or do I need to program that in my application?

Thank you very much.

In OPC UA, you can define the EURange (EngineeringUnit) and InstrumentRange for a variable of AnalogItemType. But they are only values shown for the client applications, so you will need to validate the values and enforce the range yourself in your application.
