I would like to implement a User Login function in the server that tells the client which profil he has after he logged in. It would be a String or a Number.

I can easily use a custom method in the server that the client call to know its profile, but I wonder if there is something already available in the SDK or OPC UA. It would be easy if I could store something in the user Session in my UserValidator and read it in the client but I don’t think that it is possible.

Is there a standard mechanism to have this functionnality or should I just create my own function to do this ?

OPC UA does not define anything specific for this, so it is best to define your own method for that.

You could also make a suggestion, if you think it would be generically useful to OPC Foundation Mantis at http://opcfoundation.org/mantis
