Hi,
Ideally we must unsubscribe before we close the client, but what happens if we close the client with out unsubscribing? Will server be able to detect loss of client session or and unsubscribed lists automatically and close them like garbage collection.What does the specification say?

Hi,

There is timeout functionality for sessions and subscriptions in OPC UA. These will be cleared from the server eventually.

Ok fine. But hope server will distinguish between a subscription that is intentionally paused and a terminated client (subscription live or dead).

Setting the subscription publishing mode to false (or “pausing”) disables the publishing of notification messages for the subscription. This does not discontinue the sending of keep-alive messages, which is why the subscription will not time out in this situation.
