As there was no appropriate UaGateway forum entrance, i’ll post here. Feel free to move the post to another location.
I’m having some trouble with the ConfigurationTool of UaGateway, while trying to connect to a MatrikonOPC server. I succeeded once in having UaGateway actually find Matrikon, but i cannot seem to make it find it again. Furthermore, i closed the left part of the window in the ConfigurationTool, and now i can’t seem to open this again. Reinstalling the product didn’t help.
Could you provide some kind of solution for either of my problems?

Yes you are correct. There is no forum group for the UaGateway. But you can use the Unified Automation Forum for those products. Anyway, you can also ask here.
Is this a DA or UA server? Is it a local server (running in the same computer)? If DA, Is the OpcEnum service running fine? If UA, is the Local Discovery Server running?
You can “reshow” the closed windows from the toolbar menu (right click on the button toolbar at the top part of the Configuration Window).

The right-click on the button toolbar did the trick, thank you Jouni.
It’s a Matrikon OPC DA server for simulation and testing, i’m running it on the same computer. I managed to find it again in UaGateway, however i’m having trouble connecting to it. From Matrikon Explorer i can connect fine, and see the output (a random integer changing every 1000 ms).
From the log window in UaGateway i get the following when trying to connect:
Source: Devices plugin
Server: UaGateway@localhost
Message: Call Connect on NodeId NS1|String|OpcComDaServers.Matrikon.OPC.Simulation.1 failed with status code BadInvalidState
I’ve tried to reinstall both Matrikon and UaGateway, as well as checking up on the OpcEnum service, which seems to be running fine, even after a restart.
Is this a problem you’ve seen before?

From the UA Forum, i’ve just seen others having similar problems, but with the iFix DA server. Therefore i tried to install another DA simulation server, to see if the problem was with Matrikon. I’ve installed GrayBox, and UaGateway had no trouble locating it. However, the connection problems are the same, failed with status code BadInvalidState.

I’ve now managed to connect to Matrikon and GrayBox on another Windows, using VMWare. I guess something have gone wrong with my original installation maybe. 🙂

OK, thanks for the update. This might depend on the user account under which the Gateway is running, or then it’s about the servers. If you need more assistance, I suppose it’s best to contact our support or Unified Automation support directly.
