Good afternoon,
I am trying to determine a few license terms and conditions, which I cannot easily read from the SDK license documents. I‘d appreciate your interpretation of the following questions:
– is the license perpetual? So, is a license holder allowed to use (develop and distribute products) based on the (last received licensed update) version of the SDK after expiration of the paid license period?
– independent from the former, are there any constraints or dependencies to any OPC Foundation license terms? (MIT, RCL, GPL2)
In particular for the latter point, is this information available in any of the provided license documents, which comes with the SDKs?
Thank you very much

Yes, the licenses are perpetual developer licenses. So you can keep developing and distributing after the maintenance expires with the version that you have. The maintenance provides you support and updates, though, so we of course recommend to keep that up to date.
There are no additional license terms in addition to the SDK terms. We provide you all material in the SDK, including the OPC UA Communication Stack, which is nowadays an integral part of the SDK. Only additional licenses that you need are for the required third party libraries, namely for Bouncy Castle and SLF4J.
These should be mentioned in the SDK license terms, but if you think it’s not clear enough, we can see if it needs clarifications.
