Hello,

I’m currently working on a problem that an OPC UA client which has been implemented with the SDK Version ua-client-server-sdk-4.5.8-1468 is not able to connect to an
OPC UA server (Siemens SinumerikServer / Software Version 03.01.02.00). I’ve already checked the plc configuration and there’s no rejection of the certificate or something similar. The service is also definitely using the correct authentification data but unfortunately it still doesn’t connect to the server while logging the following information in its log file:

caused by:
com.prosysopc.ua.stack.common.ServiceFaultException: ServiceFault [ResponseHeader=”ResponseHeader [Timestamp=”07/08/22 12:16:47.5761468 GMT”, RequestHandle=”0″, ServiceResult=”Bad_UserAccessDenied (0x801F0000) “User does not have permission to perform the requested operation.””, ServiceDiagnostics=”Diagnostic Info:
“, StringTable=”[]”, AdditionalHeader=”null”]”]

Thanks a lot in advance for your helpful comments regarding this topic!

As the error indicates, you don’t have access to that service with your user account. Are you using Anonymous user or UserName and Password? Check out which ServiceRequest this is, for example with Wireshark, and find out from the server which user account you need to use to be able to access it.

Or since you mention that you cannot connect, the server is probably just prohibiting Anonymous access, so you will need to use a Username and Password – or reconfigure the server.

I’m using the access via Username and Password. I also checked the access data with the help of another client and it works fine there. But as soon as I start the OPC UA Service which is programmed with the sdk it shows the mentioned line of my first post in its log.

OK, so I assume you have used UaClient.setUserIdentity(userName, password), then.

Could you verify the functionality with Wireshark as instructed in this article and preferably compare the logs with the communication of the other client. Maybe that helps you to figure out what you are doing differently.

If you can’t figure out yourself, you can send the logs to our support by email.
