When we first start the Sample Console server, a new certificate is generated automatically.
How is this done? Is this a basic feature of the OPC-UA Java Stack or do you use some kind of library?

It is down with the SDK method ApplicationIdentity.loadOrCreateCertificate, which uses the methods in the Java stack, which use the methods in the Bouncy Castle crypto library (in SDK 2.0, optionally the SunJCE library).
