Good afternoon,

I’m using prosys-opc-ua-sdk-for-java-4.8.0-25-client-server-binary.

I’ve noticed that client auto-reconnect only works if the client is connected to the server at least once.

Is this behavior correct?

Hello,

When auto-reconnect has been enabled for an UaClient, it will automatically call reconnect method periodically if either

the Server State is CommunicationFault and the Server Status is Bad or Uncertain or
the Server has shut itself down and 10 or more seconds have passed since that moment

For either of these conditions to be true, the UaClient must have been connected to the Server previously. Therefore, auto-reconnect won’t start working until the UaClient has been able to connect to the Server and it is behaving as intended.

Do you have any other questions on the auto-reconnect functionality?
