Hello,
I have a question regarding the management of our OPC UA server, which is currently under a software license.
If the OPC UA license is removed while the server is running, what would be the best practice for managing the server?
Should we close the server, invalidate user sessions, or disable access to nodes and their values?
Thank you.
Regards,
Andrea

Hello,
The OPC UA Specification defines the following StatusCodes related to licenses: Bad_LicenseExpired, Bad_LicenseLimitsExceeded and Bad_LicenseNotAvailable For more information on those StatusCodes, see https://reference.opcfoundation.org/Core/Part4/v104/docs/7.34.2
However, the Specification does not define how these StatusCodes should be used in OPC UA applications or how applications should utilize licenses in general. Therefore, it is up to you to decide how your Server application should behave when its license is removed while it is running.
