When I connect the console client to a specific endpoint URL it connects but in the TCP Hello message it sends an empty endpointUrl parameter, causing the connection to be rejected by the server.
Why isn’t the endpoint URL being included?
Kevins-MacBook-Pro:samples kevin$ ./SampleConsoleClient.sh opc.tcp://10.20.7.111:12685/ctt-test-server

How was this exception solved? I encountered the exactly same error when I used prosys opcua client library to connect to a third party server. I tried to set the endpoint url by setting the EndpointDescription. It did not help.
EndpointDescription endpointDesc = new EndpointDescription();
endpointDesc.setEndpointUrl(getServerUri());
this.opcUaClient.setEndpoint(endpointDesc);
BTW, I used “Prosys OPC UA Client” program to connect to the server, I got error “Cannot discover applications from opc.tcp://…”.
