Hi
I am exploring different options of collecting data from OPC Servers,DCS ,RTUs to collect Real time data,alarms,events and historic data and display in a dashboard for decision making .I am not sure if my OPC servers are OPC UA compliant or not.Can I use your java sdk to to do this?Or I need to use OPC UA Gateway along with PROSYS OPC UA Java SDK.We have already a set of OPC servers available with us in different location .I need to collect data from all the availabe opc servers and dcs and from other devices.
Please help me to start the poc on it.

Currently the situation is such that the existing OPC servers are almost all OPC Data Access (DA) servers. You may find some Alarms & Events (A&E) Historical Data Access (HDA) servers as well. OPC UA has started to become an option and the newest versions of DCS systems may already include an OPC UA server as well.

So you will probably need the UA Gateway. But it is best to start new development with OPC UA, anyway. Once OPC UA servers come available to you, you can then switch to using them with the same UA client application.
