I have string type data and I want Alarm should be generated when value of String being changed
I have used OffNormalAlarmType.class for that like

if(point instanceof StringPoint)
{
alarmTypeClass = OffNormalAlarmType.class;
}

Please correct me if it is wrong.

I think OffNormalAlarmType is typically used for binary alarms, i.e. a boolean flag which goes to a state that indicates an alarm.

But, maybe it could also be used for some string value, if you can determine that some values are normal and some alarming values (=OffNormal).
