It supports DA 2.05. Since DA 3.0 adds very little in practice to 2.05, we haven’t implemented support for it and for Sentrol applications it is rather unnecessary (since you have respective features in the class interfaces already). Do you have clients or servers that support only 3.0 and not 2.05?

I would like to upgrade a simple OPC DA Server from 32 bit to 64 and use Embarcadero C++ XE10 (or XE4) with ProSys tools
I know that some of my customers are using clients DA 3.0 and requested an upgrade of my software a few years ago from DA 2.0

so… the best way is to make it, and we will test

64-bit is supported (although we are investigating some issues with C++ clients at the moment). But we don’t have plans to add 3.0 on the client or server side, unfortunately.

Hi Jouni,

You mencioned in the earlier message that you are investigating some C++ issues. Can you describe the issues you detect?

This can help to know the limitation of the SDK.

To help improving the SDK we have experience troubles with redlion OPC servers. In some conditions (one is repeteated violation access in the client development) the redlion opc server blocks new connections with the current user. But the opc server doesn’t send a deny, instead it sends a request for new credentials. The problem is that for some development we can’t change this credentails and then the connection wait indefinitely for new credentails. This cause the application wait for an action that never occurs and then the application freeze. The problem is that the timeout never occurs so is it possible to solve this problem. We use the worx build 25 as redlion opc server.

Well, there is a compiler issue, making OPCQuality not available correctly from TPsOPCItem, when accessed in the 64-bit C++Builder.

The issue with credentials sounds strange and I don’t have any solution to suggest at the moment. Have you checked the DCOM configuration – if it’s a DCOM access rights issue?

Hi Jouni,

It seems to be an DCOM configuration problem as you mencionned.
