Hello !
In my OPC Server application sometimes a window appears with the header “DAX Error” and the message “Server shut down”.
Does anyone known the meaning of the message ?

It sounds like the client connection generates an exception, when the server sends a shutdown notification. I am not sure why this happens. It might be related to the use of threads. Do you have an event handler in TPsOPCServer.OnShutDown?

Sorry, I think I misunderstood and did not ask very clearly. I meant to ask if your server application is also a client application to another server. So this is not the case?

I have an OPC Server application and a OPC Client Application.
The OPC sever application gernerates sometimes the error !.
Sometimes the client application crash down and do not correctly disconnect the connection to the OPC Server.

OK, I think I’ve got it.
If the server is shutdown, it will not accept client connections any more. But if a client still tries to connect, the server will raise an internal EAbort exception. Apparently, the exception causes the message box to display, instead of returning the error to the client.
I don’t know why this happens when the client tries to disconnect, since the error comes from TPsOPCProviderClientFactory.CreateComObject, which should be called when the client tries to open the connection.
I will try to figure out why it fails and how the method should be written. Do you have the source or would you need an updated download?
