I've been using 2016.1.2 (Free Edition)

I think this here '... you should be prompted to save changes to your project...' was the clue

I did not use any specific project. I just used the simulation server with the default configuration (the case where it loads from the default.simconf).
In that case it did not ask to save after Apply & Close.

I've now used 'File//Save as' to save to a 'project.uasim' and then it loads correctly with the new assigned port.

Thank you!

Hello,

I'm unable to reproduce this error using the latest version of Simulation Server, which is version 2016.1.2.

When you close Simulation Server after applying the change to the port using the Apply button, you should be prompted to save changes to your project and in this case the change is the new port (and any other changes you might have made to the configuration). If you choose to save the changes, Simulation Server should be using the new port when it is started for the next time.

Please, let us know if you have a different sequence of making changes to Simulation Server that causes persisting the changed port to fail.

I tried to change the port (in the endpoints tab) from 53530 to 4999.

After click on Apply button, the simulation server restart with port 4999

But when I close the simulation sever and restart it again it is back to port 53530

Thanks to the Prosys great support the problem could be solved. To anyone who is faced with the same issue here is the solution.

The namespace
urn:SIMATIC.S7-1500.OPC-UA.Application:PLC_OPC_Server
is a PLC internal namesapce. Fortunately it is nowhere refrenced in the model. So one could easily create an empty namespace with the same name before importing the model and the dependency is resolved.
The second namespace
http://www.siemens.com/simatic-s7-opcua
is a self referencing namespace from Siemens and its dependency is gone with the first too.

Thank you Matti

If there is a missing dependency, you will most likely need to contact Siemens for support. If you wish, you can send the NodeSet to us using simulation-server-support@prosysopc.com so that we can confirm the error being a missing dependency.

I want "OPC UA Simulation Server" run as a digital twin of a Siemens S7-1500 OPC-UA-Server.
I can export the whole nodeset using Siemens TIA Portal manager. But when I try import the nodeset to "OPC UA Simulation Server" it claims that I have to import referenced namespaces first, as there are
urn:SIMATIC.S7-1500.OPC-UA.Application:PLC_OPC_Server
http://www.siemens.com/simatic-s7-opcua
I suppose these are Siemens extensions to the default namespaces, but I've found no way to export them too.

Do I have to get in touch with Siemens or did someone manage to get a Siemens UPC-UA nodeset running on OPC-UA Simulation Server, may be with a work around?

Regards

Hello,

This NodeSet is incomplete and invalid XML. It starts with the UANodeSet element as expect, but the element is missing it closing tag. Is this just the sharing site limiting the size of the shared file or is this also the case for the NodeSet file you attempted to import to Simulation Server? If the latter then naturally Simulation Server won't be able to import XML file that is invalid.

If the former, can you send the complete NodeSet to simulation-server-support@prosysopc.com so that we can investigate it?
